A OPEN morning was held at Scarborough Sixth Form to give prospective students a taste of college life.

The event took place on a Saturday morning to cater for anyone who could not attend the usual open evenings.

Prospective students and their parents were given a tour of the college and were able to ask questions about courses.

There was also a cookery demonstration by students who are currently working towards their Duke of Edinburgh award.

At the same time an open day was held by Scarborough Music Centre, which is based on the college site.

Sixth Form vice principal Rowan Johnson said: “It was well attended, particularly for this time of year, and it was a really a catch-up session for those who couldn’t come to the two previous open evenings.

“The people who came seemed to get a lot out of it because they had plenty of one-to-one time with either a student or member of staff.”

The college is inviting people to an Introduction Course on June 30 and July 1. Call (01723) 380722.
