BROMPTON’S village hall was transformed in to a bistro as a group of pupils put their culinary skills to the test.
A team of year-nine students from Brompton Hall School cooked up a storm as they served lunch to residents in the village at the hall as part of their food technology project.
The youngsters, who had all recently passed their Food Hygiene exams, planned the menu and bought the ingredients, before cooking soup, bread, and dessert for guests.
Food technology teacher Jackie Gray said: “The boys did a great job of getting the hall set up, and of clearing everything away after. They were quite nervous beforehand, but they worked hard and did really well, serving up around 40 lunches in total.
“We do this every year with a different group of boys, so thanks to all the residents who supported us and came for lunch, everyone really enjoyed it.”
The lunch raise £110 in total, which will be spilt between Martin House Children’s Hospice and the Brompton Village Hall Roof Fund. The boys will be cooking lunch once again on June 29, when they will be creating a new menu.
