LITTLE lions, bears, monkeys and other critters descended on a local nursery for its annual sponsored fun day.

Staff at Mucktubs Preschool in Auborough Street spent five hours transforming the hall into a jungle, where children then took part in an obstacle course to raise funds for new equipment.

Lisa Link, manager of the pre-school said: “It went very well, the kids had loads of fun and they all got dressed up.

“It’s full on but it’s lots of fun. Parents took the children round the obstacle course of eight different things in the hall, they did five laps and got a bag of sweets and juice at the end.”

Around 50 children turned up over the morning and afternoon sessions with one child from each winning a prize for best outfit.

Sponsorship money is still being collected, but organiser Mucktubs hope it will be as successful as previous years and raise around £200 which will be spent on toys and equipment for the nursery.
