CERTIFICATES and vouchers have been presented to a group of Filey Junior School pupils who impressed the judges of Filey Rotary’s Annual Christmas Competition.

Filey Rotary Club president Chris Shackleton and Filey Mayor and Mayoress Richard and Jacqui Walker presented the awards to the group of 15 pupils who had submitted pictures to 2010’s snowman themed competition.

Judges said the standard of art work for the competition was high and posed some difficulties for them, so much so they extended the normal first, second and third places and added highly commended.

The Rotary President commended the pupils for the quality of their work and staff, especially Ann Baker, for allowing and helping pupils to take part.
