YOUNGSTERS from a Scarborough school were given an insight into the world of work thanks to a special employment workshop.
The Year Six children from St Martin’s Primary School were treated to a day of activities and talks from students at the University of Hull Scarborough campus and business leaders by North Yorkshire Business and Education Partnership.
The day included various exercises to make the youngsters aware of the qualifications and skills required for various roles in the workplace, which teacher Andy Duncan had been of huge benefit.
He said: “It was fantastic for the children to meet people from the outside world and it was good for them to learn about what their jobs and how they got there.
“There was a good mix of speakers and they were extremely inspirational for the children, speaking about what their priorities are and about enjoying their job.
“The students spoke about their dream jobs and the children found out what qualifications needed for them and we will be visiting the university next month for them to find out more about it.”
