YOUNGSTERS from a Scarborough school have given the fight for Fairtrade a lift thanks to a huge poster competition.
The children from Northstead School designed colourful creations to spread the message about the campaign during Fairtrade Fortnight.
The contest was organised in conjunction with the University of Hull, Scarborough campus’ student union, who helped judge the winners.
Teacher Karen Wilson said: “There were more than 100 entries and lots of pictures carried very symbolic messages about Fairtrade.
“We had winners from every class in the school and they received their prizes in a special assembly.
“They all really enjoyed the project.”
