TOP GCSE students from a Scarborough school received their crowning glory in a special presentation evening to mark their feats.

The pupils from George Pindar Community Sports College enjoyed a night of celebration with around 300 guests at the Spa after gaining impressive exam successes in the summer.

The evening featured a talk from guest speaker Gordon Gibb, from Flamingo Land, while Fiona Norton, who worked at the school for 12 years as Head of English, presented an award in her name.

Giliane and Paul Hawkins also attended the night and presented the Ashley Hawkins Memorial Award for Service to the College.

The school’s new band, Pindar Players, the Glee Club and Katie Wardman provided entertainment on the night, to rapturous applause.
