SCARBOROUGH youngsters have enjoyed a Chinese feast as part of their school project.
Almost 60 year one children from Newby and Scalby Primary School descended on the Beijing Noodle Bar in Prospect Road for lunch.
The meal was provided free of charge as the owners of the restaurant are parents to one of the class members. The meal was arranged to fit in with Chinese New Year.
Year one teacher Alison Langley said: “We’ve had a geography theme since January and have learned about places all over the world.
“The children found out about Chinese New Year and the meal was a new experience for a lot of them.
“They tried all sorts of different foods and everyone liked something.
“When we got back to the classroom the children were inspired to make their own Chinese lanterns and dragons and even a Great Wall of China.
“They want to learn and understand more about different cultures.”
