NEWSHOUNDS from a Scarborough school hit the headlines after making the news for a day!
The GCSE Journalism pupils from Scalby School took part in a workshop with Words&Pictures to produce a four-page magazine.
They were split into two teams, with one working on the visual side of the publication and the other on editorial.
Their final product, named Success Magazine, was completed in just one day and gave students an insight into the ever-growing technical and visual demands placed upon newspaper reporters.
Headteacher David Read said: “This workshop because gave our students the opportunity to work with professionals on a project which mattered.
“It provided not only a worthwhile educational experience, but also led to the production of a school magazine that is the work of students. This is a genuine way to convey what a school is like.”
