A SCARBOROUGH school has appealed for people to raid their wardrobes and aid a new production.

Pupils from Scalby School are performing The Wedding Singer at the Stephen Joseph Theatre next month.

However, organisers have asked residents to dust off their 1980s clobber to give the show a real boost.

Teacher Chris Taylor said: “We really need wedding dresses and if anyone has one which they could donate to us we would be extremely grateful.

“We also need evening wear for a wedding and outfits that would be suitable for the night scenes.”

The show will take place on a four day run between Wednesday, February 8 and Saturday, February 11.

The production follows previous shows from the school at the theatre including Les Miserables, Our House, Rent and We Will Rock You.

Anyone who might be able to help with clothing should contact the school on (01723) 362301.
