A SCARBOROUGH school is inviting pupils old and new for a grand celebration of a huge refurbishment.

Friarage Primary School, in Longwestgate, is gearing up to mark the re-opening of a new building on Saturday January 28.

The school will open from noon until 3pm for people to have a look around and sample a range of activities.

During the day there will be guided tours of the school, with headteacher Eilis Siddall set to give an official welcome to guests at 1pm.

That will be followed by a performance from the school’s choir, with visitors given the opportunity to record their memories of their time at the school and participate in a number of workshops.

Organisers have encouraged old and new friends to go along and celebrate the occasion.

However, any children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the event.
