PERFORMING students from a Scarborough school are set to put on a stylish musical show after landing a bumper sponsorship deal.

The pupils from Scalby School will take to the stage next year for their version of The Wedding Singer with a real spring in their step thanks to a £1,000 tie-up with Scarborough company, Life’s Energy.

Students have been working hard in rehearsals for the four-day production which will take place at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in February.

Teacher Chris Taylor said he was buzzing at the deal with the energy provider which would really boost the show. He added: “We are extremely excited about having Life’s Energy as our major sponsor.

“Life’s Energy is a local green energy company who strive to unlock the potential of nature to provide home owners with products and knowledge that fulfil their wants and needs at the right price. The staff at Life’s Energy aim to inspire and educate pupils to preserve and protect our planet through the use of green technologies, such as solar panels, solar thermal systems and ground or air source heat pumps.”
