HARD work and achievement was recognised at the annual Yorkshire Coast College awards ceremony. The event was held at Scarborough Rugby Club and prizes covered a host of skills areas taught at the college including hair and beauty, construction and accounting.
Principal Bonita Hodge praised the students for their level of commitment and all their achievements throughout the year.
She said: “It’s not just about the qualifications the students are working towards - it’s about their effort and contribution to college life.
“It was a really good night and there were lots of people there supporting the students.”
Ms Hodge added: “All the winners were delighted and some were presented with more than one prize.”
The event was attended by deputy mayor Helen Mallory and her daughter Lucy, who is deputy mayoress. The ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, was also supported by the Lions Club.
