PUPILS from Wheatcroft School in Scarborough are delighted to be seeing results from their new allotment.
The raised beds were set up earlier this year and youngsters have been tucking into fresh produce, including lettuce and radishes.
Headteacher Jenny Hartley said: “We’ve been using produce in the school meals and giving visitors things to take away with them.
“The children have planted seeds, looked after the plants, watered and harvested them.
“It’s a lovely thing for the school and the children are very enthusiastic about it - and the produce tastes really good too!”
