The University of hull is holding an open day at its Scarborough Campus tomorrow.

Prospective students and their families from across the country will be descending on the University of Hull’s Scarborough Campus for the University’s latest open day.

Academic staff will be available to give advice and guidance about the range of courses that are on offer at Scarborough, including Business and Management, Environmental and Marine Sciences, Primary Teaching and Education, English, Digital Media, Counselling, Health and Exercise and Social Care.

As well as chances to see the facilities on offer, potential students and their families will be able to obtain information and advice about money matters, accommodation, admissions issues, graduate employment and careers.

Current students will be on hand throughout the day to answer questions and give a real insight into student life. There will be tours of the campus and of the range of accommodation that’s available.

Visitors will be able to attend talks about a variety of subjects, including work experience and volunteer opportunities, the admissions process and finance. For the first time there will also be the chance to attend a seminar which will provide attendees with hints and tips on what to include in their Personal Statements which form part of the UCAS application process. There will also be a new ‘Return to Study’ talk for the growing number of mature learners.

Dr Craig Gaskell, Principal of the Scarborough Campus said: “Our Open Day gives us the chance to show off the University of Hull’s Scarborough Campus and all of the great facilities and courses we have to offer. Visitors will go away with a better understanding of the degree courses available, the University’s ethos and the special campus environment that we have created in Scarborough.

“We pride ourselves on putting students at the heart of everything that we do here at Scarborough and on providing the intellectual stimulation and practical support that students need to realise their academic potential. We recently saw off strong competition to win a prestigious national Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Award linked to the provision of a class-leading student experience.

“We are also delighted that our students have recently voted the University of Hull amongst the top ten for student satisfaction out of all mainstream English Higher Education Institutions in the National Student Survey”.

The Scarborough campus will be open from 9.00am to 3.30pm. Everyone is welcome, and booking is preferred but not essential. Please email us or call 01482 466500 or 01723 357227 to book a place.
