HOLIDAYMAKERS and residents alike basked in the Easter sunshine as temperatures soared following days of sea fret.
Scarborough started the Easter weekend under a cloud, but as the fret burnt off on Saturday people came out in their droves to enjoy the better weather.
Thousands of people flocked to the beach with numbers boosted by hundreds of scooter enthusiasts who had converged on the town.
Temperatures in Scarborough peaked at around 66F (19C) with other parts of the country experiencing highs of 81F (27C), making Good Friday the warmest April day since records began.
Experts have said that this is officially the hottest Easter for 100 years.
