FALKLANDS hero Simon Weston will give an after-dinner talk in Scarborough later this month in aid of the Rotary Club’s polio eradication appeal.
Simon, who survived and overcame horrendous injuries sustained in the conflict, will be the guest of honour at a charity event at The Spa to be hosted by the two Scarborough Rotary clubs on Friday February 25.
Dr Ian Holland, president of the Rotary Cavaliers, said: “This should be a very interesting and enjoyable event, in aid of one of the most important causes imaginable. There is a real chance of eradicating polio in our lifetime.
“Both Scarborough Rotary groups are working together to help this good cause, and by supporting this event everyone can play a part in achieving one of the most significant medical breakthroughs of our times.”
Master of Ceremonies at the February will be BBC TV presenter Harry Gration, and music will be provided by the Kirbymoorside Town Brass Band.
For tickets contact Ian or Angela Holland on (01723) 890609.
Support for the event will come from the Spa Complex, Welcome to Yorkshire, Peace of Mind Financial Solutions, and members of the two Scarborough Rotary Clubs.
