University students are joining forces to raise money for the local branch of an animal charity at a family fun day taking place next weekend.
Children’s activities, stalls, raffle and tombola will all feature at the Paw Pals event at St Andrew’s Church in Ramshill on Saturday April 13, from 12-4pm, in aid of the RSPCA.
Second year University of Hull learners Natalie Whisker, Catherine Little and Fiona Gray, based at the Scarborough campus in Filey Road, are organising the fundraiser as part of a free elective course.
The threesome have also got local businesses on board by donating prizes which are up for grabs on the day.
Miss Whisker said: “We wanted to support a local charity and we are aiming the event at kids, so we decided to make it animal themed and to support Scarborough RSPCA.
“It’s been really interesting to organise.
“We have raffle prizes donated by Stephen Joseph Theatre, Olympia Leisure and Pets at Home.
“There will be a tombola, cake stall, hook a duck and pin the tail on the donkey.
“We also have different stalls selling home-made items.”
All are welcome to come along to the free Paw Pals fun day.
