FIND out about the inner workings of local farming life in a free event this weekend.
Stepney Hill Farm in Stepney Road is inviting people to come and meet the animals and see live machinery and equipment demonstrations as part of Open Farm Sunday tomorrow from 9.30am-4.30pm.
Event assistant Daniel Fell said: It’s an initiative to bring farming in the countryside together, to give people a view into how farming works today.
“We’ll be showing the hedges we maintain, the cattle we rear, how the meat comes from our field to plate.”
Visitors will also have the chance to see the farm’s British Lop pig, one of only 80 left in the world.
Other activities include scarecrow making, gun dog retrieving demonstration and sheep shearing.
