A farming family is celebrating the start of a successful new business venture following the launch of three luxury glamping properties on their working farm near Filey.

Edward and Mandy Lindley, who own the properties in Burton Fleming, decided to diversify into self-catered getaways to make the most of the growing glamping trend.

The farm, which is also home to free range chickens, provides a rural retreat for busy city dwellers seeking a space to ‘get away from it all’, showcasing the Yorkshire Wolds and with easy access to the coast.

Now approaching its first anniversary, the enterprise has quickly grown in popularity. In response to high levels of demand, the Lindleys have expanded the site from just one shepherd’s hut in September to now offer three.

Guests are provided with private hot tubs, fire pits and woodburning stoves, among many other luxury details.

Debbie Wibberley, regional manager for Yorkshire Cottages and cottages.com which is marketing the huts, said: “There is a huge market for glamping getaways and a growing desire among holidaymakers to get away from it all without travelling far from home.”
