A father and son were rescued from North Bay when they got caught in a riptide while body boarding.
The rescue happened on the opening day of the RNLI’s seasonal beach safety patrols. The pair were brought safely back to shore after being recovered on to paddleboards. Alex Barthe, senior RNLI lifeguard at North Bay, said: “We always advise people to swim at a lifeguarded beach. We were pleased we were on hand able to help.”
