HULL University’s Scarborough campus is staging a Christmas fayre in the town library tomorrow, from 10am to 3pm.
The event is usually held at the campus but all its rooms are being used for teaching, says student activities coordinator Kathryn Oram-Robinson.
“We have got Gladstone Road Junior School Choir coming down in the afternoon for two singing sessions,
we will have a Santa, our netball team is baking cakes and selling them to raise funds for some new kit, and two or three students have got stalls raising money for local charities”, Kathryn says.
Stalls will sell fair-trade goods, floral gifts, cards, etc. There will be reflexology, lucky dips, Vie make-up, treasure trails and face-painting.
The profit from a tombola will go into the student union to help with the welfare of students.
