A THREE-TIMES world champion kickboxer is passing on his knowledge and skills to youngsters in Scarborough.
Andy Desa, who moved to Scarborough recently from Lincoln, gave his first session at Scarborough Sea Cadet Hall.
The session, based on kickboxing, featured self defence, fitness and games.
He said: “It was really good. Everyone enjoyed it, so it’s something I’m looking at building up now.
“I want to make sure its fun and incorporate all aspects for all ages.”
Andy is also starting to do similar sessions in schools, working alongside the school curriculum.
He said: “It’s about teaching values, such as respect, honesty and discipline, which are important values of school life.
“We also have an anti-bullying system in place.”
Andy has been world champion three times in kickboxing and taekwondo.
He has won 160 titles in national, European and international events and is a 6th dan black belt.
As well as working with schools and youth groups, Andy has also worked with the probation service and their younger clients.
A keen surfer, he moved to Scarborough from Lincoln after falling in love with the town.
