Frayed back at Cellars

FRAYED play their second gig at Cellars on Saturday.

The trio’s diverse set list includes numbers by Pink Floyd, early U2, Del Amitri, the Calling and Tom Petty.

Frayed are Ian Patterson on bass, keyboards and drum programs; Dave Parker on vocals, guitar and ebow; Stu Goldthorpe on backing vocals, electric and acoustic guitars and ebow.

The ebow, abbreviated from electronic bow and pronounced e-bow, is a hand-held, battery-powered device for playing the electric guitar, invented by Greg Heet in 1969. Instead of having the strings hit by the fingers or a pick, they are moved by the electro-magnetic field created by the device, producing a sound reminiscent of using a bow on the strings.
