FREE heart checks are on offer as part of the launch of a new charity in memory of a 24-year-old Scarborough man.
The Allyn McCluskie FH Foundation is being officially launched tomorrow in tribute to Allyn who died in May 2009 after suffering an undiagnosed coronary artery disease.
The charity has been set up by his family and friends to raise awareness of heart conditions among the young.
During the launch event at Filey School tomorrow people aged between 14 and 35 can have their heart tested for free as well as undergo blood pressure checks, fitness testing and dietary advice.
The event runs between 10am and 5pm and also features a prize draw to help raise money for the Allyn McCluskie Foundation. Since Allyn’s death £16,000 has been raised for charity in his honour.
