Youngsters have been having fun at a new Friday Club at The Summit in St Nicholas Street, Scarborough.

The club started last month and organisers say that its has been well received with a great turnout.

Friday Club coordinator Stacey Cranmer said: “It’s going really well. Mums have been bringing older kids along too and it’s a good opportunity for parents to play with their children or sit and relax with a coffee.

“The Youth Angels come along too and help out as young leaders, which gives them chance to give something back.

“We’ve had a good few weeks and we’re looking forward to the run-up to Christmas now.”

Stacey added: “We have a jungle theme at the moment and the theme will change every half term.

“The children love it and we’ve had a really good reaction from parents on Facebook.”

The club, which is for five to 11 year olds, is held on Friday afternoons from 4.30pm to 5.45pm.

If features games and activities, such as themed crafts. People can just turn up and will need to register at the first session.

Parents can stay if they want to. Under fives are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
