THREE Scarborough friends are taking on three fundraising challenges to raise money in memory of their loved ones.

Stephen Trotter, Jamie Davies and Steve Farrell are doing a parachute jump on June 11, the Great North Run on September 18 and the Chester Marathon on October 9.

In the past couple of years, all of their lives have been touched by cancer. Stephen lost his sister in law, Lynda; Jamie lost his mum, Sue, and Steve also lost his mum, Lynn.

All the money raised will go to Cancer Research UK, Macmillan nurses and St Catherine’s Hospice.

Stephen, 26, who lives in Scalby, said: “We wanted to do something after what have been a terrible couple of years. Macmillan nurses and the hospice do a brilliant job and without funding, Cancer Research wouldn’t be able to do its trials and tests.”

Donations can be made at the Plough in Scalby and the Crown Tavern in Falsgrave.

Alternatively go to www.justgiving.com/Stephen-Trotter to give to Cancer Research. Add a “0” to the end for St Catherine’s or a “1” to give to Macmillan.
