AN ACTION-PACKED four days kicked off yesterday at this year’s Pickering Traction Engine Rally.
Organisers say they have gone out of their way to book the “cream of the crop” in music, steam engines and all round entertainment to wow the crowds at Pickering Showground.
Thousands of people are expected to flood through the gates over the weekend to look at the hundreds of vintage machines including traction engines, classic cars and motorbikes, steam rollers, steam lorries and watch steam threshing and ploughing demonstrations.
Among the highlights will be Northallerton-based Prestons of Potto and Neil Corner and the Show Organ Society, of County Durham, which will be bringing the famous Burrell showman’s engine, Winston Churchill.
Doors open today and tomorrow 9am to 11pm and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.
