An out-of-school club has proved a big hit with youngsters at St Andrew’s Church in Ramshill Road.
The club is held every year for one week during the school summer holidays and is aimed at children aged from four to 12 years old.
Organiser Alison Shepherdson said: “We’ve been doing it for the past two years and each time we have a theme.
“Last year it was the Olympics and this year it was Bible Heroes. We picked a different person each day and had craft activities, games and outdoor play.”
During the week, 51 children took part, with around 30 attending the club each day.
Alison said: “Our minister is keen on making sure there are plenty of children’s activities at the church.
“We want to make it somewhere where children can have fun.”
She added: “The club was really popular - I just advertised it on Facebook and had lots of responses.
“Childcare can be really expensive, but we only charged £2 each day so it was a chance for parents to work and give the kids somewhere to go.
“The children were great - they were so well behaved and they loved everything we did.
“There’s nothing that didn’t go down well!”
