A SCARBOROUGH chain of convenience stores is holding a number of fun days this month for visitors and residents.

The two remaining events have been arranged over the next two Saturdays (July 16 and 23) at Nisa shops in the Northstead and Peasholm areas of the town.

Owner Daniel Wilson said that the events had so far proved popular, despite the recent downpours, at the branches in Newborugh and The Sands complex.

He said: “They were sponsored by Unilever. There was a lot for the kids including free prizes and toys. At the Sands the weather was a bit of a let down.”

Mr Wilson added that staff were giving away free long-lasting bags to help reduce the need for disposable carrier bags.

As well as special promotions at the events there were fun activities including a colouring competition and face painting.
