Doggy antics were the order of the day at the third annual Swandale Summer Dog Show and Fun Day held at Yorkshire Coast College on Sunday.

Pets were made to look their best as owners competed for rosettes in various dog show classes, with the Best in Show trophy awarded to Lisa Davis with her Bulldog, Tyson.

Crowds of people turned out, attracted by fun activities and games, to help raise money for The Dogs’ Trust and other local charities which were present.

“The day was a huge success with our biggest crowd yet,” said Lisa Winter, practice manager at Swanzdale Vets in Scalby Road. “There was a great atmosphere, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and the weather was great too. We had more children attending this year, with face painting and the bouncy castles, we had lots of donations of tombola prizes and beautiful cakes.

“We would like to thank the people who helped to set up, helped throughout the day, who donated and to everyone that attended to help make the day as successful as it was, raising just under £1,000 for local charities.”
