YORKSHIRE Building Society has chosen the RNLI as its charity of the year.
Every year the Yorkshire Building Society chooses a charity of the year and this year they have selected the RNLI, which saves lives at sea.
Each branch will hold various events during the year and in Scarborough on Saturday it was all about buns, ducks and wellies.
The Scarborough branch held a fundraising day - and RNLI mascot Stormy Stan put in an appearance to support the event
RNLI Lifeboat press officer John Porter said: “The staff in Scarborough created their own duck pond to play hook a duck and sold beautifully iced, homemade buns alongside the decorated small rubber ducks being sold in all Yorkshire branches for the RNLI.
“Stormy Stan also made an appearance at the branch and worked hard encouraging people to get involved with the fundraising fun.
“Our grateful thanks go to all at the Yorkshire Building Society for their superb support.”
