Gala event aids soldiers

WOUNDED Scarborough veterans are set to receive a boost thanks to the kind-hearted organisers of a gala charity evening.

For the second year in a row, a ‘Valentine Ball’ will be held at Scarborough Rugby Club to raise money for the popular charity.

Organisers have stated that they are hoping to beat the figure of £4,5000 which was raised last year.

And in a special move, all the money raised from the evening will be used locally, with the money due to be donated to the Catterick Garrison Rehabilitation Centre, which has helped several soldiers from Scarborough, injured in conflict.

The event starts at 7pm on February 11 with tickets costing £30.
