An “It’s a Knockout” family fun day is set to raise money for two good causes on Easter Sunday.

The event, presented by Matalan, is being held at the McCain Sports and Social Club in Osgodby Lane from noon to 5pm on April 20.

Entry is £1 per car and the afternoon will feature Dave John B’s Knockout Roadshow.

Bev Nunns, manager at Matalan’s Scarborough branch, said: “The response so far has been amazing. Lots of people are getting involved and we’re got 23 teams signed up at the moment.

“It’s going to be a brilliant event and we’re hoping to see as many people there as possible.”

She added that it is hoped the event will raise around £20,000 for Help for Heroes and the Firstlight Trust.

The fundraiser will also feature stalls, games, a bar, hog roast, refreshments, face painting, hot food, bar, plus lots more.

To get involved, or find out more, call in to Matalan or ring (01723) 0845 330 3330.
