A NUMBER of events are in the pipeline for Scarborough-based charity Ellie’s Fund.

The charity was set up in memory of Scarborough teenager Ellie Othick who died after battling two brain tumours.

Next Saturday there will be a fundraising bike ride along the old railway line, starting at 10.30am.

On the night, the Round Table 88 Ball will take place at Scarborough Rugby Club.

Sunday will see the launch of a calendar in aid of brain tumour charities, which features Ellie’s mum, Heather Othick.

The launch will be held at Get Ahead Hats in Snainton.

And on Sunday September 18, Ellie’s Walk will take place around Marine Drive.

The fund currently stands at £47,500 and is helping eight local children who are going through cancer treatment, seven of whom have brain tumours.

Heather said: “We’re over the moon with the amount raised so far.

“We’ve got lots of events coming up and everyone is welcome to take part.”
