MORE details have been revealed about The Blades display which will be one of the highlights of Armed Forces Day in Scarborough this Saturday.
The highly-skilled pilots, who have all performed with the Red Arrows, will begin their breathtaking 15-minute display at 12.30pm, as part of a packed Armed Forces Day programme which also features a 15-minute Lancaster Bomber display, veterans’ parade, marching bands, air-sea rescue exercise and many other activities.
James Cliff, from The Blades, said: “Comprising four Extra 300 stunt planes flown in an array of intricate manoeuvres, The Blades take aerobatic flying to the next level.
“The Blades’ display is action packed from the start to the finish. The pilots will loop and roll in tight formation, and perform opposition crosses at closing speeds in excess of 400mph.”
For the second year running, The Blades will be partnered with The Royal Air Forces Association Wings Appeal which supports the whole RAF family, whenever they are in need.
This year there is also the chance to fly with The Blades and raise money for people in need – all you need to do is raise £2,000 for the Royal Air Forces Association Wings Appeal and, in return, you’ll get to experience the thrill of close formation aerobatics with The Blades.
