People living in the borough are being offered free advice on staying warm this winter.

Choices4Energy, launched earlier this year, is an independent advice centre provided by Scarborough Borough Council in partnership with Yorkshire Energy Partnership, White Rose Home Improvement Agency, Yorkshire Coast Homes, Sanctuary Group and Home Group, and can help cut the cost of winter field bills.

Since its launch, Choices4Energy has referred 46 properties for free loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, solid wall insulation or a new boiler. The service is keen to hear from people that are unsure about whether they are eligible for any of these measures.

Cllr Bill Chatt, the council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Housing said: “I encourage anyone wanting energy advice or wanting to find out what options might be available to them, to get in touch with Choices4Energy soon before the cold winter weather takes its hold.”
