THE third annual Scarborough Memory Walk will take place on Sunday September 4 this year.

The Memory Walk, which is organised by the staff and volunteers of Alzheimer’s Society, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, takes place along the seafront.

The route starts outside the Rotunda museum and finishes at Northstead Manor Gardens near the North Bay Railway. The walk will be started at 2pm by the Deputy Mayor of Scarborough, Helen Mallory.

Information worker Helen Williams said: “We would like as many people as possible to join us for the walk.

“It is one of the main fundraising events in our calendar and so we would be thrilled if walkers could seek sponsors, or give a donation and just join in.

“The walk is also about raising public awareness about dementia, so we are hoping to get ourselves noticed along the seafront. Jellyroll Jazz will be playing, some of the walkers will be in fancy dress and there will be information stalls at the start and end of the walk.”
