ST CATHERINE’S Hospice in Scarborough received a £400 boost from South Cliff Golf Club.

The cheque was presented by Moira Cooper and Mick Ellis, who have come to the end of their captaincy at the club.

By coincidence both of them had chosen Saint Catherine’s as their designated charity for the year.

The money was raised in a variety of ways including a charity golf day, bunker fines and by Moira taking part in the New Year’s Day dip dressed as catwoman.

Golf club members also took part in the Saint Catherine’s Hospice annual Midnight Walk and this money has been collected in separately.

Hospice fundraiser Penny Campbell said: “I would like to thank both Moira and Mick for choosing Saint Catherine’s to benefit from their fundraising and all of the members of the golf club for their continued support, especially during the 25th anniversary of the hospice.”
