Josh Greening has opted to stay at Tadcaster Albion, though a move to Scarborough Athletic could be on the cards in the future.
Boro boss Steve Kittrick has spoken to the Scarborough-born striker after an initial approach, but Greening is wanting to see the season out with their Evo-Stik North rivals.
Kittrick said: "I have chatted to Josh and he said that his brother Jono is looking at retiring at the end of the season.
"Josh told me that he wants to play alongside Jono for the final few months of his career and he also said that Tadcaster have been good to him.
"Josh also said that he would love to play for his hometown club again in the future, that could be something that could happen next season.
"I really appreciate where he is coming from and I'd like to speak with him again in the not too distant future."
