A LOCAL training group enjoyed all the delights of a good old cup of tea on a day trip in Scarborough.

As part of its links with the community, Scarborough Training Centre organised a trip to Woodend Creative Workspace for one of its groups to see the gallery’s latest tea themed exhibition.

Various professional sculptures, illustrations, paintings, textiles and photographs, can now be seen celebrating the cuppa alongside a display of decorative tea cups made by members of the public.

Sue Mann, manager of Scarborough Training Centre, which trains people with learning disabilities, said the outing was a great success and well received.

She said: “We took a small group who receive day service via the centre.

“It was part of our being in the community.

“We ask if there is something in the community that the people we support want to see and we organise it.

“We frequently go to museums, anything that is out there in the community that we can access.

“Everyone really enjoyed it, it was a very successful event, it was very well planned and very well prepared.”

The exhibition runs until June 28.
