Jackie Dartnall-Smith has retired after 40 years’ service as a guide leader in Scarborough.

Jackie joined the Scarborough Salvation Army Brownie Pack aged eight then became a Guide aged 11, moving on to become a young leader, assisting the then-leader Peggy Tindall.

In later years she completed the Adult Leaders Training Course she took over as Guider when Peggy retired.

Reflecting on her lifetime of service in Guiding, Jackie has many very happy memories of UK trips and International Camps. Two of Jackie’s past Guides are now themselves leaders with The Salvation Army Rainbows and another has recently taken on a leadership role with the Guides.

Jackie is pictured with Lieutenants Richard and Lorna Weston with her certificate of appreciation presented to her by Lieutenant Richard on behalf of The Salvation Army.
