A HEALTHY-EATING drive spearheaded by Scarborough Hospital and celebrity chef James Martin has attracted a new audience.
Bosses at Bridlington Hospital are set to officially adopt Mr Martin’s new menu, which was last year made famous during the BBC series, Operation Hospital Food.
The Scarborough-trained chef worked alongside managers and hospital cooks to produce a new weekly menu of homemade dishes, including carrot and coriander soup, slow cooked pork and sticky toffee pudding.
Following its success, the project is being rolled out for patients in Bridlington from next week.
Pat Bell, catering manager at Scarborough Hospital, recently took over the running of catering at Bridlington Hospital, and said: “We are currently working with James on producing our next seasonal menu which will also be rolled out at Bridlington Hospital.
“We will be introducing fresh homemade soup to the menu – which has proved to be one of the most successful changes that James made to our menu.”
