TWO wards at Scarborough Hospital are still closed due to the outbreak of a sickness bug.
The Oak and Chestnut wards are shut as bosses fight to stop the illness spreading further.
Liz Booth, director of operations, said: “Two wards at Scarborough and one ward at Bridlington Hospital remain closed.
“This involves the closure of 90 beds which is impacting on acute admissions and the Emergency Department.
“We are encouraging patients to only attend Accident and Emergency if absolutely necessary.
“Local GPs and the Ambulance Service are working with the Trust to manage the situation.”
The wards at Scarborough Hospital have been closed since last Wednesday.”
They are expected to re-open again this week.
