WORK on refurbishing Scarborough Hospital’s main entrance will take two weeks longer than expected.
The £600,000 project was due to be finished at the end of this month, but bosses have now confirmed a completion date of mid February.
Patients and visitors are currently having to use the West Wing entrance to access the building.
James Hayward, director of facilities, said: “The project is progressing well. There has been a slight delay of two weeks so we are looking at a completion date of mid February.
“The end result will be a much improved main entrance and we would like to take this opportunity to thank patients, visitors and staff for bearing with us during this important project.”
The new main reception will feature a new coffee shop, WRVS shop, waiting area, toilets, meeting room and cancer information point.
