A SCARBOROUGH charity is appealing for green-fingered volunteers to help create a child-friendly garden.

CCS Childcare, in Falsgrave Road, is hoping local businesses or individuals will come forward to make the youngsters’ dream of an outdoor play area come true.

The not-for-profit childcare provider moved into its new premises a year ago and has transformed the inside of the building.

However, the large outdoor area at the rear is still unusable and staff are hoping people will come forward and help with its transformation.

Jade Hartley, early years professional coordinator, said: “We’ve had so much support from parents and local businesses in decorating the inside of the building.

“Without their help we would not have got to where we are today.

“But with the outdoor area, things are at a standstill. It’s a huge space, but we’re not able to use it at the moment.

“The major thing that needs doing is resurfacing and making it safe for the children.

“They can’t wait to get out there and are forever asking about it.”

If you can help revamp the garden, or provide some play equipment, please call CCS on (01723) 364552.
