SHOP staff have taken the lead in raising money for a dog charity.

The team at Pets At Home in Seamer Road, Scarborough, raised £904.19 for Yorkshire Coast Dog Rescue which was collected during a four-week Santa Paws event in December.

A tombola – with prizes donated by the staff – and rounding up totals to the nearest £1 at the tills were two of the ways money was raised.

“It was absolutely a team effort,” said deputy store manager Steve Wardle.

“We were delighted with the amount raised. December is a tough time to be asking for money but the community support was phenomenal,” he said.

“I know Dog Rescue appreciate every penny they receive.”

Pets at Home staff are now preparing for a fundraising fortnight in April.
