Emergency services have been dealing with a collision involving a blue Ford Fiesta and a HGV on the A171 at Cloughton.

The incident, which was reported at 1.58pm today (7 April), occurred on the Whitby side of the village.

The Fiesta ended up in a ditch and the three occupants, a 41-year-old man and two children, were checked over by paramedics.

The man was uninjured but the children were taken to Scarborough Hospital by ambulance to be checked over.

The road was not been blocked by the incident, but traffic was disrupted while enquiries were carried out at the scene. The police investigation at the location was completed by 3pm.
