Two miniature poodles from Thornton le Dale are looking for a loving new home following the death of their owner.
Pepe and Kim are currently being looked after by pet minder Julie Bartlett, however a permanent residence is being sought for the cuddly duo.
Ms Bartlett, who runs Doggies and Moggies, said: “Their owner was taken to hospital by ambulance and I was called to go in and look after the dogs but unfortunately she didn’t come home.
“They were her babies. At the moment they are at her house and I am looking after them.
“They are going to take a little bit of getting used to because she mollycoddled them a bit but they are really sweet and they are lovely dogs.”
Ms Bartlett, who has worked with animals for 20 years, said the pair would be best suited to an experienced dog owner who is able to dedicate their time to them.
“They need somebody who will just give them a nice new life, start again with them and teach them new boundaries, somebody who will give them a lot of love and a life-long home,” she said.
“They need an owner who knows the breed and wants to really have a dog otherwise it’s just going to be unsettling for these little ones all over again and they have been through enough already.”
