A Scarborough firm has shown its continued support for St Catherine’s Hospice with the presentation of a cheque for £20,000.

Dale Power Solutions Ltd, in Dunslow Road, adopted the hospice as the company’s primary charity some three years ago.

As the majority of the power solutions provider’s 225-strong workforce is locally based, bosses say there is a strong feeling of social responsibility towards this organisation.

Many employees say they have been touched personally by the splendid work carried out at the hospice and are very appreciative of the great comfort and support services St Catherine’s provides.

The money has been raised through numerous activities such as quiz nights and cake bakes, the hospice Midnight Walk as well as Christmas and Easter Draws.

The Dale Social Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all Dale employees and the local businesses who have given freely of their time and money to assist in the money raising efforts.

Tim Wilkins, Dale’s chief executive, presenting a cheque at the company’s headquarters, said: “I am proud to be able to present this splendid cheque to St Catherine’s Hospice.

“Our employees have taken this charity to their hearts and raised a very commendable amount of money, which I am sure the hospice will put to good use.”
